Relaxation for Inner Peace

By Vadim
Montreal, Canada
It is so easy to relax a bit, but it's so hard to relax completely!
When I just had started the courses, I used to be tense, especially in the areas of shoulders, face and lower stomach.
I remember that I really enjoyed my first experience with Gnosticweb's technique of relaxation.
We had closed our eyes and then our teacher was guiding us through the practice. It was interesting to be helped to see where to pay attention and what muscles to relax.
As my muscles loosened, I felt myself more in inner peace within myself; it seemed that not only physical tension, but even psychological stress was leaving me. I felt like a dirty energy was going down from my body, letting me feel healthier.
Why should I always fight this force of gravity?
After the practice of relaxation I could feel a noticeable effect not only in my body, but in my psychological state as well - having increased alertness and attention, seeing the world around me more clearly.
I used to believe before, that relaxation requires only a simple wish to relax; however, I found during that practice, that it is rather a conscious action, taking time, effort and skill. It is great to learn how to relax well.
I hope that, on some level of experience, I will be able to keep this state all the time.
